I published a new story on Friday. I was going to wait until today, but you’ve all waited long enough as it is. It took me a complete rewrite and a decent amount of editing, but I’m actually really happy with how this one turned out. Please let me know what you think, though. I’m always looking for ways to improve.
I also started editing the Medieval story this past month. There’s a lot of rewriting in my future, but I think it should be pretty good. It will be featured on the Macabre Monday page this month, but I’ll post it here as well.
After that? Well, I’ll have to think about it. I might go back to my serial, or I could start another short story or flash fiction piece. Either way, I promise I will keep writing and will try to release stuff more consistently.
What I’m reading:
The Stillwater Girls, by Minka Kent
A pretty good thriller, although the ending was kind of a letdown. Realistic, but more aggravating than thrilling.
The Ghostwriter, by John Harwood
I absolutely loved this creepy and atmospheric story. If you’re looking for a page turner, this is it. My only criticism is that the ending was a bit too abrupt for my taste, but this is a minor criticism for such a good book.
The Iron King, by Julie Kagawa
I’m not really a YA reader, but this was quite fun. The pacing and narrative voice were both excellent as well. There were definitely a few parts that reminded me that I’m not the target audience for this book (ie, hot broody murderer guy), but I won’t hold that against it.
