Hello, horror fans!
You may have noticed that the logos and a few of the thumbnail images have changed. Since this Substack has been around for a few years now, I thought it deserved a glow-up. I’m planning to eventually replace the rest of the AI art thumbnails with something nicer and more professional looking. After all, I don’t want to give the impression that the stories are AI generated as well. They take much too long for that!
Despite having some major life changes this month, I was still able to finish a chapter and get my word count up to 17k. I’m definitely in the second half of the story now. The antagonist’s identity is about to be revealed to the reader (it’s already known to one of the viewpoint characters) and I’m excited to find out where it goes from there. I also switched from first person POV to close third with several different POVs. I really liked my first person narrator, but there were too many important things going on that she couldn’t find out in a natural way. Ah well, I knew I’d have to rewrite most of it anyway.
I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut lately, but I did manage to read Hanna Delaney’s The Spider, which was quite a fun mystery with a surprising ending. I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
Thanks as always for sticking with me!
I used to really like first person, but the close thread person is more and more appealing
