Despite getting a bit distracted by all the Suff silliness going on and then getting sick a couple times, I’ve made some headway on the medieval short story I’ve been working on (probably a bit over halfway done with the first draft). It has been pretty slow going even by my standards, but I’m really liking how it’s turning out so far and hope that it will be worth the wait. Thanks as always for your patience. In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out the Blackwater Files stories everybody has been posting, I would definitely recommend them. I might eventually contribute one myself, but I’m trying to be responsible and finish what I started first.
I have tried several different iterations of the serial idea I initially had, but couldn’t really get it to gel into a cohesive plot. However, yesterday I remembered an interesting idea I’d had years ago but never developed. I started sketching out some scenes last night, and I think I might be onto something here.
I’ve also been considering writing a post about my writing process and other stuff related to craft. It seems like most of you are also writers, but I also know from experience that most non-writers find this stuff incredibly boring. Let me know in the comments if this is something you’d be interested in reading. I can usually write nonfiction pretty fast. It’s just fiction that takes me forever. :-)
I find the fiction stuff much easier than nonfiction.
