Hello all,
Thus far, I’ve mostly been sticking with 19th and 20th century western settings for my stories. It’s what I’m most familiar with and where much of my literary inspiration comes from. However, lately I’ve been considering exploring some other settings. Not because I’ve gotten bored with my current stuff, but just to experiment and see what happens. Variety’s the spice of life, right?
I’m also thinking about adding a brief context/notes section at the end of my stories. I do slip in references to let the reader know where and when I’m writing about, but I also don’t expect everybody to instantly recognize them. After all, I’m not a historian either. I have to look a lot of this stuff up too.
Do you have any preferences one way or another? Alternately, is there a setting that you’d really love to read about? I’m definitely open to suggestions here, so please let me know.
Also, thanks so much for reading my stories! I’m honestly kind of shocked that I have almost 40 subscribers after only six months, and moreso that nobody has unsubscribed yet. It really means a lot to me.

PS: Please be on the lookout for a new flash fiction story next week.
If it’s a setting I’m not familiar with I appreciate having a little note about the context.
i know this struggle! I've actually been banging my head against a wall trying to figure out a proper way to do a horror story set in medieval times. it's hard to come up with a genuine take that doesn't read as parody or derivative though.
